From the heights of its hill, the fortified village of Saint-Paul de Vence is one of the most visited villages of France.
Saint-Paul’s charm is mainly created by its setting. Raised on a hill between the valleys of the region of Vence, it has kept the medieval charm of the fortified towns that watched over the Var borders until the end of the 19th century. Since the inauguration of the Maeght foundation, that houses works of major 20th century artists (de Staël, Kandinsky, Léger, Soulages, etc.), it has become one of the centres of modern art in France.
